I always wondered this as well.

Particularly since the next episode starts with the bathtub scene. I mean, how is there no sex - and even talking about no sex - when they're both naked and she's laying on top of him?!?

If you're going to be naked in a tub, there might as well be sex.

Luckily for all of us, her resistance didn't last too long.

I'm really glad in that episode the choice was made for Derek not to see Mark pursuing Meredith. It just would've delayed MerDer from being a couple for more episodes because he would've been so mad.
