Tragedy almost strikes Raw tour
A record crowd welcomed the Raw Superstars in San Juan, Puerto Rico, but less than 24 hours before the show, the tour almost had a tragic experience. On the way from Miami, Fla., a woman sitting toward the rear of the Raw Superstars’ plane passed out and had no evidence of any blood pressure.
People immediately called for doctors. Fortunately, WWE’s Dr. Ferdinand Rios was on the flight, as well as another doctor. Between the two of them and all of the tools necessary on the plane, the woman was under full medical care. Dr. Rios applied an oxygen mask to the woman and attached her to an IV. After looking through her purse, he realized she was a diabetic. He learned from her husband that she had taken her medication on an empty stomach, in addition to taking medicine to aid her in flying. From there, he was able to resuscitate her. “We were on our knees for two hours,” Dr. Rios said. Without the doctors’ expertise, the woman would not have survived. Between the successful procedure and the show later that night, it ended up being a good day. The first show of the Central America tour brought a sellout WWE audience to the venue. Check out photos from the show and check back often as the Raw Superstars continue to Panama and Guatemala. - wwe.com They are photos up at wwe site. __________________
