What about the sexual assaults and beatings? There was a lot going on.

True, but I think within the context of the story it is a bit more "accepteble"
I mean, people are much more outrage when an animal is hurt in a movie, eventhough it would be part of a story, then they are when a sexual assault or beating happens.

And for me personally, the eating of the dog,is not something which is vital to the story.
In fact, that first line in the book, nearly made me put that book away.

I believe there are still countries where they eat dogs?
Depending on how they put it, it might be acceptable given it won't be real.

I wonder if there will be mentions of it, bit they won't show anything on screen?

I think the whole eating the dogs/animal is a great way to illustrate just what kind of state the people in the building have sunk to. Perhaps I would cut some of the "random" bits, like the killing of that kitten.

I I think it is also a case of how far they dare to go with the script and does it work on film.
Because as we all know, sometimes scenes in a book don`t work on film.

I'm also curious on how they will transition the scenes? In terms of going from Robert to the other two characters (Wilder and Royal) without confusing the audience with the shifts?

Yeah,that is another interesting one.
They might use meetings by an elevator or something to switch around.

One thing I really hope they don't change is the (implied) ending Wilder gets. It was fantastic on paper and I think it would work great on screen, too.

Speaking of Wilder - it seems confirmed that he will be played by Luke, but I'm still a bit confused by the choice:
Quote:
Elisabeth Moss moves into High-Rise - BelfastTelegraph.co.uk

Elisabeth Moss and Luke Evans have joined the big screen adaptation of JG Ballard's classic thriller High-Rise.

The Mad Men actress and the Welsh Hobbit actor join James Purefoy, Reece Shearsmith, Peter Ferdinando and comedian Dan Renton Skinner in the British film, directed by Ben Wheatley.

[...]

Elisabeth and Luke will play trouble-making tenants Richard and Helen Wilder.

Ben said: "Elisabeth Moss and Luke Evans are great additions to our cast. I'm really excited to be working with both of them. I'm looking forward to see what they will bring to the complex relationship between Richard and Helen Wilder."
I've loved Elisabeth Moss on Mad Men! Nice pick.

I love Elisabeth Moss! This is one hell of a cast so far!

We still need to know who will play Alice!

Did they say when exactly in July would they start filming? June is almost over and the casting is still open.

they must be able to film some scenes without everyone being cast for certain.

Or he had to do some prepping? I can't remember.
Was something mentioned, besides that tweet about why he would probably miss the Fashion Ball?
