well, tbh I didn't either. I love The Hobbit, watched all of those, but I could not get myself through one entire LOTR movie, though I tried many times.

Same. I do LOVE the Hobbit films and fell in love with the actors there. If I had gotten into LOTR before the Hobbit came out, maybe I would of been a fan? I should give it a go and see

it tends to be the case, people who loved LOTR don't like The Hobbit as much

Maybe just being protective of the first trilogy? I was younger when they came out and didn’t watched because they dragged.
