I think that they can "fix" Frary, but whether it is believable is a completely different story.

I think most of the people sticking around still have hope for them, but I wonder how will th writers fix them now after all that happened, I mean she clearly told him that she wanted to move on with other people so..

I think they will fix them by Mary realizing what a mistake she is making with Conde and returning to Francis and them working together to restore their marriage over time.

I feel as though this season has little resemblance to S1 other than characters seem to have the same name. Catherine, the political animal, was reduced to seeing ghosts. The brilliant Francis and Mary and their scheming in S1 have become people lacking in common sense. Bash has been reduced to doing Francis's bidding, and he's turned from someone who is sensitive and observant to someone who is secretive and makes unilateral decisions. Greer/Castleroy/Leith have been reduced to miniscule/nonexisting roles. There also has not be many victories for fans to enjoy and cheer on. I feel like I've signed up for a completely different show with entirely new characters.

It seems to me like they're trying to smoothly go back to the way the show was in S1. The episode in this back half are far more entertaining than the first half in my opinion !

Yeah the first half of season two was very different from last season. The second half of season two has been more like season 1.
