I feel like I’m leaning more towards her in the present day storyline... the military and her costume in general are not Vietnam era...

this is my theory
I think the guy Jen’s Character is hugging in the trailer is probably her ex husband. Same man we see in the picture with a boy. Since she was at war she suffers from PTSD so this man left her, So she goes to therapy maybe years has passed and she meets Kevin Pearson.

Yeah, that seems possible. I think Ausiello's theory is likely (I hope it's true). She's definitely in the present timeline.

yeah she is present because look at the desk. there's an iPhone 5, bunch of CARS toys and a laptop.
I think she was in Afghanistan since she greets a woman in a hijab.

but the boy we see in the finale of s3 looks a lot younger than the boy in the picture.
