He's probably gotten past it - at least consciously. He's had enough success in a field that pretty much requires good looks that he's had a lot of affirmation about it. Plus, he's probably realized that looks aren't everything and he's successful as a producer and director as well as an actor, so he knows he has brains as well.

There are a couple of tv series Simon did in his early days in Australia that I'd love to see. I just found out that one of them is available on Amazon Prime, so I'm going to give it a try.
