After that, the show shifted into something completely different. Jane's personality is somehow different, the chemistry between Jane and Lisbon is gone, and most episodes involve some sort of under cover operation... very strange.

Anyway, I just want to say that I enjoyed watching this show tremendously... up to Season 6.5.

yeah I get your point. The cases weren't as interesting and the new locations. I mean, soemtimes it was good to have something different but the atmosphere was very different. Plus, usually shows decline at the end. I was tired of Red John but it gave some awesome storylines too.

It was fairly obvious that S7 was a gift to the long-term fans, especially the Jisbon shippers. Even though there weren't many scenes that really focused on their relationship, there was something in just about every episode and it was all leading up to the grand finale. The drama and the cases really took a backseat to that.
