Thought we needed a Vega thread!

1. Did you find it in character for her, a character touted as being very by the book, to lie to Cho and disobey Abbott (who flat out told her to work with Wylie) in episode 3?
2. Do you think she has a crush on Cho, or is it more of admiration (or both)?

I was a bit surprised that Vega was willing to do that; perhaps hints at her work ethic in the past. I think she does have a crush on Cho, though their dynamic is too much of a father daughter one for me to ship it. I don't really ship her and Wiley either, since I just haven't gotten any feels or interest out of their interactions yet.

I want her to go on a mission with Jane and Lisbon!

I don't ship Vega/Cho, but I do think she has a crush on him. Like I don't ship Wylie/Vega, but Wylie has a crush on her. My dad disagrees Vega has a crush on Cho - he says "I think she wants to be Cho."

My gut reaction was that it was out of character for Vega to lie to Cho and disobey Abbott. But then I thought, maybe the "by the book" personna she projects is just a facade. Maybe she's more about "whatever it takes" - especially when it comes to getting involved in the parts of the job she really wants to be involved in.

I think she has a hero-worship type crush on Cho, not a romantic one. She wants to observe him, she wants to learn from him - and yes, she wants to be him. Getting dressed down by Cho in 7.03 was a real blow, and she may have to either rethink her methods or rethink who she's going to try to emulate.

I also think Wylie has a crush on Vega, PLUS, he likes the fact that she's the newbie now and he wants to be able to play the experienced mentor for her.

All of that said, I don't really ship Vega with anyone.

Hmmm, at first I was thinking "whatever it takes" was a better way to describe her, but the writers made a fairly big deal about how she doesn't like the way Jane operates and he's definitely a "whatever it takes" kinda guy.

Perhaps it's "whatever it takes" - but from two different perspectives. Or simply that she doesn't recognize it as well for what it is when she's the one taking shortcuts. She's young enough to judge others on a by-the-book standard, while considering her own ends to justify the "whatever it takes" approach.

Alright so after last night I'm thinking, on the Vega/guy front, I'd rather see Wylie/Vega than Cho/Vega.

I think Vega IS "by the book" but that one time she was so excited that she didn't even think it through, she wanted to go so she just said yes. I also agree that she wants to BE Cho, not that she likes him, but I can see her liking him with no problem. I'd rather not see her end up with anybody (it's enough with R/G and J/L) but I guess if I had to choose I'll go Wylie. I do want Cho to have a LI though.

I loved her when she was undercover (though her mistakes in Spanish bothered me a bit). You can tell she's actually having fun now on the job doing unorthodox things.
