I think they perhaps wanted him to have a buzzcut and since he filmed 3A with long hair he also needed to have longer hair in 3B

Mmm... I am glad that his hair remained the same.. it is more patted down in 'TMR'... but I never imagined Thomas to have a buzzcut...
