On one hand, I suppose that I was one of those that assumed he'd he redeemed at some point. And I'm sure that his being the big bad will effectively stop that possibility. On the other hand, I'm glad that we'll see more of Brett Dalton. The writers have been flirting with the lines and he has been stuck in the gray since the end of season one. I'd like for it to become black and I want to see just how dark he can really be. |

I think having Ward back as the Big Bad makes a lot more sense than the weird grey area he inhabited this season. I think it's a win-win for most everybody - it keeps Brett Dalton on the show, but in a way that makes the most sense for the character.
I think redemption was never really in the cards for Ward, he crossed a line in S1 that he could never really recover from without some major change in the character (e.g. he was brainwashed all along, or he got the TAHITI treatment) that a lot of people wouldn't have been happy with. I do have sympathy for fans who liked pre-Hydra Ward, but I think once he betrayed Coulson's team Ward's days on the show were numbered. I'm surprised they kept him around for as long as they have. __________________

I think it makes sense to have character being the 'big bad' that actually has history with the characters on the show. Not too many shows have that, you know: someone that seems good at first, bumps back and forth in the second season only to become the big bad in the third. It's been a long ride, and it only makes sense for Ward to hold a grudge. He's acted like **** in the first and second season, SHIELD/his team punishes him for that, and he can't handle that (as he can't really handle anything it seems).
I love this show, and how there's so much discussion on the internet on how characters should be |

Oh my, I just thought of this It's not really news or something, but I didn't really know where else on this board to post it. I saw this video a couple of months ago, and it made me laugh so hard, and I just saw the girl that made this video just uploaded a sequel. This is some hilarious and creative stuff.
I'll see you in about half an hour I guess... Last edited by Mazza d'Evill; 05-20-2015 at 05:08 AM |

I could only get through half of the first one, but it was very enjoyable. I have to work today, but I'm definitely watching the rest when I get home. Thanks for sharing those.

I did find the character a bit boring in S2 though. __________________

Great
I agree his character was a bit 'flat' in season 2, but I do think he has a lot of potential For Skye, and as some kind 'anchor' inside the Inhuman group. |

Yeah, with how they hinted at his past at the end of last season, it was obvious we hadn't seen the last of him. I agree I didn't really connect with his character so far, but he has a lot of potential and I'm looking forward to really getting to know him!

I haven't really gotten past, "He's a nice boy!" but that's enough for me so far. Plus his power is pretty cool.
