Ahh fan migration. I don't think it's so terrible but hey I got into both PoI and SG late during their off seasons so I guess I'm part of it, but f/f by itself isn't enough to keep me watching I have to like the rest of the characters and what the show is doing generally. And sometimes I like the show but not the ship so OiTNB for example I like it but Piper/Alex have always been meh (well terrible but better than Larry I guess).

When it comes to Cophine I feel the fans have left mostly and not returned. Tumblr OB posts only tend to get a few 100 notes rather than 1000s now. Even the Evelyne set picture from last week only managed 600 notes and she is easily the fan favourite.

Yet while I am sad there's less buzz for OB I also prefer it and the smaller fandoms since you get less of the hierarchical or entitled fandom BS that comes with the larger fandom bases.

tbh i don't mind the fans leaving. like you said, smaller fandoms are better. i thought s4 was the best season since s1, and during s1 the fandom was tiny and actually fun and really enjoyable. we're going on to the last fandom, so the smaller fandom won't really negatively impact the show. but watch, if cophine ends a happy ending and s5 is decent, people will be retroactively hailing OB and acting like it was the greatest show of all time.

I don't blame fans for leaving. I almost did. season 3 was that bad.

I can't say I've really migrated to most of those f/f fandoms. I've only watched half the shows they're talking about and when I started watching some of them they didn't have f/f couples or I didn't know about them. Totally started watching OB because I was sick and needed something to watch and didn't even know about Cosima/Delphine.

Turned out to be an excellent decision!
