Heart of Stone {1.05} ~ Episode Discussion

Airing 8:00/7:00c, Thursday, Nov 14th, on ABC

“Heart of Stone” – In a flashback, Will Scarlet and Anastasia jump through the looking glass to enter Wonderland against her mother’s wishes, since she disapproves of Will. They both soon realize that life in Wonderland isn’t exactly what they had both imagined. After being humiliated while attending a ball at the palace, Ana convinces Will to steal the crown jewels in order to get them out of poverty, but in an instant, Ana is caught red handed by the King who makes her a proposition she can’t refuse – to marry him and be his Queen to avoid prosecution. Meanwhile, in current Wonderland, the Red Queen convinces Alice to help her acquire magic dust in exchange for information about Cyrus, who in turn has managed to skillfully escape Jafar’s castle leaving the White Rabbit in a compromising situation, on “Once Upon a Time in Wonderland,” THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 14 (8:00-9:00 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network.

“Once Upon a Time in Wonderland” stars Sophie Lowe as Alice, Michael Socha as Knave of Hearts, Peter Gadiot as Cyrus, Emma Rigby as The Red Queen with Naveen Andrews as Jafar and John Lithgow as the voice of the White Rabbit.

“Heart of Stone” guest stars include Hugo Steele as Orang, Brian George as Old Prisoner, Matty Finochio as Tweedle #1 and Ben Cotton as Tweedle #2.

“Heart of Stone” was written by Katie Wech and directed by Paul Edwards.

Cannot wait to watch this! So excited to see more of Will/Ana's story. And bring on Cyrus's escape!

Loved this episode.

Favorite moments were:

1) Anastasia saving Will with the dust

2) The cave scene between Alice and young Alice

3) The scene between Ana's mother and Ana/Will. (Reminded me of Cora and Regina/Daniel)

Least favorite moment:

Jafar cutting off the rabbit's foot

Anastasia taking the king's offer instead of being with Will

I know people compare Regina and Ana together:

But the main difference between them is:

1) Regina didn't want to be queen and marry Leopold
2) Ana took the king's offer instead of being with Will

Regina's father was a nobleman. She already had a wealthy life to live before marrying King Leopold, whereas Ana, with Will, had to steal breads to feed themselves. The king's speech to her was persuasive and his offer was irresistible. Fantasy was defeated by reality.

I loved seeing Jafar!! Its gonna be funny to see him wherever the Rabbit took him. I have an idea as to where that will be but im gonna wait and see if im right! Lol!

Good episode. Not great but I liked the backstory on Will/Anastasia.

It's sad that it looked like Will was more in-love than Anastasia. All she wanted was to be rich and power. I was kind of hoping a far more deeper rift that probably involved their family and friends for the fallout but I'll take it.

Poor Rabbit, I felt for him.

Now he's Jafar's puppet. At least we know where Rabbit's loyalties lie.

Yay that Cyrus is free and it's only a matter of time before we see the reunion! Also, love that end part where the Red Queen used the fairy dust for the Knave (also guessed this early on). I wonder if the Knave & Alice will find each other in Wonderland or Alice finds Cyrus first?

I thought this exact same thing. A part of me though wanted Anastasia's mom to be good so this was recycled stuff for me that I didn't enjoy.

Ana is a mixture of young Regina and young Cora

Ana's mom was not as pure evil as Cora. She did care about her daughter's happiness upon a decent life which Will as a thief can't give her. She had a point, which I can't deny. Maybe in her opinion, living on love is like building a house on sand.

At least she didn't kill Will lol. I understand mothers don't want their daughters with thiefs but telling her daughter she was no longer welcome was wrong. Ana was like young Cora that she chose power over love and wanted to change her station and snuck into the ball.
