i agree, they made a great choice when they chose her

So glad that she has a regular acting role as well.

Tis character seems like such a departure from previous roles that I have seen her in.

Yeah, same here. Never even watched Charlie's Angels. But she's a fantastic as Joan. I don't think they could have cast someone better. :)

I agree. I never really understood the fuss around her and never had reservation about Watson being a women but actually reservation about Lucy Lui and I was so wrong. I can't imagine anyone else better to bounce of Johnny

I'd love to be added

I agree. She was the perfect choice, and having Watson as a woman was a brilliant change.

the dynamic between them works well as a man and woman, especially with Lucy, besides i like that they did something that has never been done before

I don't know much about the original Sherlock, haven't read or watched anything else, so I don't even really notice the change up. But I think she works better than a male 'sidekick' would. They have a more interesting dynamic.

i haven't read the books, but i have seen a few of the tv and movie adaptations, and i agree that Lucy just seems to work better as a sidekick, :) i don't whether that is just because she is a woman or because it is specifically Lucy though!
