So I went to San Diego Comic Con in 2009 with a bunch o’ my friends, and we happened to run into Darren Criss. Well, my friend Erica and I did…other folks found him later in a mad fervor >_> This was after A Very Potter Musical came out, so we were absolutely amazed and astounded. He was just sitting down against a wall as we were walking to go get lunch. Erica and I stopped, looked at each other in disbelief and sputtered something like, “Is that…buh-?!” Then we approached him and he was as surprised to be recognized as we were surprised to see him. He was really friendly and, shall I say, “totally awesome.” We asked if we could take pictures with him, and he was only too happy to oblige. So the first picture is me with good sir Darren. At the time, I had no idea that I was make the sign for love instead of “ROCK ON!” hahah. We mentioned that we were going to get lunch and asked if he’d like to get lunch too. We were beside ourselves when he said yes, but I think we did okay keeping it together XD

So we ended up going to lunch at a Thai restaurant roundabout the gaslight district. The food was fantastic, and we got to talk to Darren Criss over lunch and have a generally awesome and most excellent time. The second picture of Mr. Criss with Erica, (cosplaying Azula from Avatar The Last Airbender of which we, and he are massive fans) taken with my rather poor cell phone camera. After that, he was off to rejoin with some of his friends (also of A Very Potter Musical fame), and we were back to tell our friends our astounding tale. All were envious, some were quite unhappy that we didn’t bother to text anyone >_> We were quite starstruck after all and overwhelmed by the totally-awesomeness. We didn’t want to overwhelm him with our giant group and weren’t thinking in a fully coherent pattern, due to starstruckness… Everyone who wanted to see him did get to see him at some point in the con though, hahah.

And now he is crazy famous and has a bright career ahead of him. Darren, if you ever see this, thanks for being such an awesome guy, thanks for eating lunch with us, and thanks for being so very superb. Congratulations on your great successes, and here’s to many many more! *imaginary champagne glass toast manuever* Who knows, maybe we’ll meet up again someday. Anything’s possible!
