most definitely, although I think his mom was trying to understand him but he kept pushing her away.

I think his dad wanted him to grow up to be who his dad wanted him to be (i.e a doctor right?) but Jacob didn't want that so I think he probably felt like a disappointment to his dad.

he didn't know for sure that she was going to kill him....there was no way to know. he shouldn't have trusted her in the first place...
