As promised, here’s Diana—I hope I did her justice! Now, normally I would put this in my story but I figure it has a much higher chance of being seen here. The average life expectancy of a Black trans woman in the United States is 35. THIRTY FIVE. 80% of the trans women killed from 2014-2019 were black, and only 42% of the cases resulted in an arrest. In addition, black trans women also report much higher rates of poverty and homelessness. Diana’s story got a happy ending—I mean, she chopped off the arm of a bigoted middle aged white man, jumped out the window, and flew off into the sunset with her hot faerie boyfriend WHAT A QUEEN. However, a lot of women in real life still need help and support, which is why I’m reposting some lists of black lgbtq+ organizations, in addition to places to donate to support black trans people specifically. Considering that this was one of the longest captions I’ve written, if you’re still reading this, I’m genuinely impressed. If you’re still reading this, consider me very impressed. I wanted to let y’all know that I’m planning on drawing either Lily Chen for pansexual pride or Alastair with blonde hair for gay pride. Haven’t completely decided which will be first, so I’ll probably put a poll in my story at some point.
