It's fairly sad, he does not have any (much) blood family left. It's amazing that he has the Lightwoods and Clary, etc.

It is sad that he doesn't have much relatives left but at least he does have a family that loves and cares about him.

I guess he did find some things about his family before Luke's sister had gone.

The Lightwoods are the best though. They all truly love him, and he loves them. That is all anyone can ask for.
