I don't think they would cut it because usually they need the triangle to sell it to the mass market. However, the triangle was very minor.

it was. It only lasted two books.

Then the Simon/Isabelle/Maia triangle started to happen in the 3rd and 4th books.

Even though incest is used in popular tvshows, it was more of a medieval, and historical time period. I can't think of any modern day type shows or movies that has an incest couple.

I think if they could show/tell the audience somehow in the first movie that they aren't really related it should be fine.

I guess they might have show in the third film that they aren't related because it drags a bit from book 1 to book 3.

I was spoiled a little from book 1 and knew they weren't really siblings. I'm not sure if I could read through the first 3 books not knowing if they were or not.

Actually I do know one modern day movie with an incest couple(s) but i can't think of the name of it. It was a kind of messed up film.

I think i was a bit spoiled as well.

Although there is still the Sebastien(Johnathan)/Clary incest vibe thing. So incest is still a part of the series.

I totally knew about it before I read the first book again.

In a lot of ways I'm glad I didn't read the first book all the way through the first time and thus the others ones when they came out. I don't think I could handled the wait.

Jace/Clary relationship seemed kinda disturbing in COLS, but I guess it had partially to do with Jace/Sebastion bond.
