Imo, you don't need to re-watch S1. There's a different story everytime Count Olaf escapes.

Ah they're in a school and got sent to another person to take care of them. Here's the last scene:

S2 starts with book 4, which is one of my favorites.

They will meet the Quagmires in this school. There's going to be a big reveal soon. Plus a recurring thing on the show are the Baudelaire parents as they are still alive.
