Episode 7 was fabulous

Alexa 01-13-2020 10:58 PM

I finished yesterday.

I still want to know more about Cassie, her episode wasn't really all that focused on her. Poor girl has been through the ringer and let down by almost everyone. I want to see more of a sisterly bond with her and Lexi for sure as they are my two favorites. Also, McKay sucks. Period.

I honestly didn't enjoy 7 that much, sorry guys. Rue was locked in her room the tire time which I found sort of pointless. i get it was showing her depressive episodes but idk, there wasn't a lot going on.

It was cool to see more of Jules and her previous life but I felt the episode focused a bit too much on her. And there is something about Jules I cannot connect to. She sort of bugs me. Why is she dreaming of kissing Nate? And she leads Rue on.. idk, I'm not a big fan of that.

Fez is great, love him threatening Nate, even if it backfired. I def want to learn more about him next season.

Maddie was not wrong about Kat. I really dont like how shes changing and acting. I used to like her but not really into her anymore.

Nate is the worst but is such an interesting character, so the show is doing a great job. Great acting by Jacob who acted the heck out of that scene with his father.

Ethan is fine, him and Kat are fine but idk, I'm not that into it.

RUE IS FREAKING BADASS. Her and Lexi are freaking cute. I ship them more than I ship Rue and Jules lol. I loved Rue standing up to Nate.

favorite characters are cassie, lexi, rue, and maddie. i also like fez. jules is okay. nate is written really well.

favorite episode was episode 4 at the carnival. Then I would say episode 2 revolving around Nate and assaulting Tyler. After that, I think the pilot was really strong. After that i think episodes 6 and 8 were great, then I would say 3, 7 and 5 were the weakest but i still enjoyed them.

the comical parts of ep7 really made the ep for me:lol: Rue being manic was was really funny Zendaya did such an amazing job playing different characters at once. Detective Rue is the best:lol:

I think the reason Jules imagined Nate with herself bc A) she was on drugs, B) she was terrified of the whole situation that if she tells on him she has no future, C) bc she falsely testified and that's a crime, and D) bc she is struggling with her sexuality atm. and I don't think she's leading Rue on. they want different things atm but she truly loves her hence why she saw her at the end of the party scene too. she just needed to get away from all of it bc she's just a teenager and being responsible for someone at that age is horrifying. bc that's what Lexi told her that Rue's doing good bc of HER. so if Nate's blackmailing isn't enough there's that.

I know we mostly see things from Rue's pov and we feel for her the most but she's not the only one suffering:( they're definitely not right for each other as they are now. Rue is unfair to her too. it's just not fair to stay sober as long as the person you love is with you. it's not supposed to be on them, you have to decide to stop using for yourself.

my fav episode is also the 4th one but 7 is a close 2nd. the rest is hard to rank cause they're all good but yeah I'd say 5 is my least fav too.

I just really felt like Jules was not really that into Rue and was leading her on the whole season. There was no need for her to tell her to kiss her after avoiding her the episode before. Or constantly touching her/leaning on her when she knows how Rue feels. I dont really understand the love for them and I feel like people just ship it because its two women instead of really thinking of whether they would be good for one another.

Dont get me wrong, I love their friendship and their support for each other but its totally one sided and until the show builds it up and shows how they work together I cant really get behind it.

JoJoF92 01-15-2020 01:02 AM

that's all fine:) you like what you like.

you know it seemed that that weekend apart for Jules made her realize lots of things and she came back all confident while she wasn't sure about the relationship before. but it's clear she feels the same way as Rue does, when her friend asked her if she's "in love with him (aka her bff)" she answered "her" not denying it, and at the party she was on her mind the whole time too.

I thought the whole relationship was a bit rushed bc Rue is only staying clean bc otherwise Jules would leave her and that's not right. and relationships mean sg else to Jules, she's never had an actual relationship before and I think being exclusive is strange for her now. their lifestyles just don't really match but I know the love is there and if they evolve as characters separately I think they have a future together. I definitely don't ship them just bc it's an LGBTQ couple. if I don't see the love there I don't really support those just cause like with any other ship.

Alexa 01-15-2020 01:19 AM

at that point for me it was too little too late.

they are going to have to build that more for me to really buy into it.

im not saying everyone only ships them for that reason but i think a lot of people are just like "oh two females yes lets ship it!" which isn't their fault because they dont get enough representation on tv.

JoJoF92 01-15-2020 01:20 AM

it could be the case for some for sure

Elle 01-15-2020 02:25 PM

I'm wondering if they're building this extremely complex crash for their relationship into season 2 and then show Jules really coming around to Rue after a scare with a possible OD.

Butterfly85 01-15-2020 09:05 PM

I can understand why some don't like Rue/Jules. IDK, I just liked their friendship and chemistry, so I like them together lol. Their the first couple with two girls I've ever liked.

JoJoF92 01-16-2020 01:10 AM

yeah I think they're very interesting. I just think they should be in a relatively good place in their lives in order for the relationship to work in a healthy way

Elle 01-16-2020 08:09 AM

True

Butterfly85 01-16-2020 11:04 PM

Yeah, I said before that both of them need to get themselves together so they can have a normal, stable, healthy relationship.

Alexa 01-16-2020 11:26 PM

I like them a lot as friends and love their interaction. Personally i like the idea of it not being romantic though because it would be nice to see two bisexual/pan whetever they are not necessarily be together romantically. but I'm also okay with it going there as I think the fans mostly want it and the writers will prob. do it. But I just think right now Rue deserves more than to be with someone who is unsure.

JoJoF92 01-17-2020 02:11 AM

I don't think Rue should be with anyone for a while. dating is not recommended when you're recovering and she just OD'd so it's definitely a no. it's advised to wait a few months or a year at least bc you have to concentrate on yourself first. it can be comforting if things go well but every relationship has its ups and downs and like we saw in the finale, it can trigger relapse.

also since Rue might have bipolar disorder as well, that could make things really tough from now on. she's gonna need medication for that but since she's a user she could get addicted to that too. so we'll have to see if she's diagnosed or not or if it was just one the withdrawal symptoms

Butterfly85 01-17-2020 02:23 AM

I loved them as friends too so if they just stayed as that, I found be fine with that as well.
