That ocean is clearly what inspired Spencer in Washington and London. Shame PLL couldn't match the high(er) standard.

The story behind it is the producer's (Val Lewton) boss didn't like him and gave him titles that he thought would make cheap b-movie horror pics. Then Val had to make a make a movie to that title. Cat People is probably his most famous and best.
