I wish they would explain the camera thing more. Though it was pretty cool they used the camera since that was the object we saw him with the most. I agree, the Derek and Stiles thing doesn't make sense

Maybe Matt really wasn't kidding when he said that Sterek is a good pair. He's been bringing them together this whole time.
-put them in a pool together for 2 hours -made Jackson paralyze Erica so Stiles would take her to Derek -made them have a few conversations outside the rave -brought them to a gay club (he wanted them to go public) -paralyzed them and laid them side by side (plus they were touching each other!) |

He probably couldn't get a clear picture of Derek either, just like with Scott. As for Stiles, maybe Stiles didn't catch his attention?
 And they were in a pool, so the kanima didn't attack them because Matt couldn't swim.__________________

If papa Stilinski couldn't get a clear picture of Derek, then Matt definitely couldn't neither

The pool thing didn't really make sense and if he really wanted Stiles dead, why didn't he have the kanima attack Stiles again later?__________________
