I think the Sheriff will be mad as hell but understands when Stiles says something like "I can't handle something happening to you and not knowing where you are."

It's John. Even if they come out and reveal that it's something completely different, it's John.
I don't know why they've withheld the Sheriff's name for so long though. It's really awkward when all of the other adults have names -- even reoccurring ones, like Ms Morrell. Anyway... that new trailer destroyed me. I thought the first trailer was bad with the Sheriff's "why don't you tell me your name?" but this one was just... ugh. __________________

Well, Jeff did say in one of the panels that we'd learn what Stiles' real name was.
I think Lydia will reveal it. There seems to be a trend with Lydia calling out peoples' "Christian" names to save them, which she's done with both Jackson and Mason. So it wouldn't surprise me if she does it with Stiles somehow. __________________
