Isaac and Allison, Lydia and Stiles. I think the key thing with these two pairings is not NECESSARILY the romance or potential romances involved but actually a combination of the personal growth and emotional connection AND the traumatizing experiences they’ve gone through earlier in the episode.

Isaac witnessed Allison losing her father and helped her cope emotionally by hugging her and anchoring her. He kept her grounded and stayed by her side. He anchored her.

Stiles has a panic attack and Lydia literally performs the exact same service for Stiles by kissing him and talking to him and anchoring him.

Lydia and Isaac have proven earlier in the very episode that they are suitable emotional anchors, that they can LITERALLY PULL THEIR LOVED ONES OUT OF BLIND PANIC AND TRAUMA and are emotional comforts.
