Yeah, I agree. I'm glad she wasn't blaming Oliver. You could definitely see it in his face in that moment that it's exactly what he was worried about so I'm glad that she didn't say it was his fault.

Felicity Smoak was initially introduced as a sidekick character on the CW’s adaptation of DC’s Green Arrow comics, branded and marketed as Arrow (2012-present). To date, her popularity among fans and critics have expanded her role to that of the original team that seemingly contributes to the creation of the Green Arrow persona, and as a major love interest for the superhero’s alter ego, Oliver Queen. In February 2014, fans of Felicity Smoak organised a Twitter campaign to trend the phrase: “Felicity Smoak is a superhero” where fans tweet the producers, writers and cast with favourite moments from the show and digital comics in which they consider her to be a superhero. These moments usually centred on the integrity of her character, and how the writers have created an intelligent, brave and strong female character who isn’t overtly sexualised. Indeed, fans constantly tweet the show’s producers and writers with the phrase to show they are appreciative of the character’s intelligence, and more importantly that Felicity Smoak isn’t merely defined by the main character but instead, has an active role in creating the Green Arrow identity. For these fans of Felicity Smoak, she is their introduction to the Green Arrow comic universe and remains one of the main reasons they continue to watch the TV adaptation. In this paper, I propose that ensemble TV shows like Arrow have created popular characters that are independent of the original text they were adapted from, and as a result this has created “character fandoms” – in this case, the Felicity Smoak fandom – which serves as fans’ entry into comics that is consistently experimenting with, and incorporating transmedia and paratextual fan readings.
