I think Donna will play a big part in helping him out of the darkness and staying out, she already was. He was actually doing fairly well at the end of season 4. He wasn't drinking even though he lost his job too. He helped TA save the day and then he went on a road trip with his girlfriend. He seemed to be on the road to recovery (as much recovered as you can be from what hes dealing with anyway). I guess he hit a snag maybe. He seemed kind of down for the like the second we saw him in the promo for the new season. But hopefully with help from Oliver and Felicity and Odnna, he can start to heal again.
