Yep, Australia gets too hot. I've read that the rest of the world really doesn't do air conditioning at home like the US does.

Almost all new houses/apts are built with an AC unit. Those that don't have one can buy a portable unit. In the next decade or so, fans are probably going to be obsolete since they don't actually cool the air down, just move hot stale air around.

I just wish the portable units were a little less heavy. Try putting one of those 70 lb suckers out your window by yourself. Thor could do it by himself, but I am no Thor.
