I do like/love him Tom does such a GREAT job with him, both movies Thor and The Avengers. He plays to all the layers and Loki has them. You really do see them in Thor and he even brought it up to Thor in The Avengers. He's always the shadow of Thor
I can only comment on him from what I've seen in the Avengers, I haven't yet got round to seeing Thor.

You can add me. I didnt like his character much in Thor but in Avengers I definitely saw him evolve as a character. He was a villian but I saw his human side too.

I wanted to say that, instead I lost myself in babbling. So I'll just quote you.

I think a key line of dialogue to understand the drive of insecurities and buried anger motivating Loki is his "I never wanted the throne, I only ever wanted to be your equal", from the Thor movie.
That's not to say he is just a misunderstood, poor character who shouldn't be accounted of all the mess and hurt he generated. He is the god of chaos and lies, afterall.
Seeing his vulnerability and pain doesn't erase his bad, and viceversa.

While I will never forgive Loki for what he did to Coulson (grrrrrrrrrr Loki *shakes fist*) - Tom was so brilliant with this character and I love that Loki shows both his villainous evil side and his vulnerability - it makes the character so much more layered and interesting.

please add me!

Add me! I LOVE TOM HIDDLESTON. What a charming man!

As for Loki, he may have been cray cray, but I kind of understood where he was coming from!

I know, I loved the Son of Coul, too. He died a true hero. But I'm mostly shaking my fist at Joss Whedon for that one, because he just can't resist killing someone off and breaking everyone's heart in the process, whatever the project.

Tom is irresistible.
And pretty much the president of the Loki Fanclub. You can see how much he is attached to the character and how hard he works to portray all of him.

I agree, I think his "daddy/family" issues have completely helped shaped what kind of person he is and because he is a broken child, he has trust issues which skew his perceptions of everything.

I just wanna give him a hug and tell him he's still loved!

If you find yourself enjoying his acting, also check out "War Horse", "The Deep Blue Sea", and "Midnight in Paris".

Added you, Lyndell! Nice to see you joining us here, too.

Henry IV, part 1 airs next Saturday on BBC2 if you're in UK (or have means to watch it anyway that day or afterwards) and want to check it out. The previews look good.
Henry IV, part 2 and Henry V air on July 14 and July 21, respectively.
