It was always implied that "Crimson Peak" would be a unique film, and it turns out that even what went on behind the scenes is fairly unique. The stars of the film, Tom Hiddleston, Jessica Chastain, Charlie Hunnam and Mia Wasikowska, each had a very specific way to prepare to play their respective characters.

"I gave each of them a 10-page biography that says everything from what they like to eat to what sign they are and day they were born — all the story of the characters up to the point of the movie," del Toro told Digital Trends. He added that he swore each actor to secrecy about their character's background story.

Hiddleston spoke to the site as well, calling the biographies "a gift" that "helped each actor give a better performance" in the movie.

"It informs the way you play things," he continued. "It makes the whole world of the film have a huge level of detail, and you realize the story is a moment in time. It's a slice of these people's lives, and they're already fascinating. There's a longer 24-episode version where you could see where everyone is coming from and going, but this is the one moment where they intersect. It's brilliant."

"Crimson Peak" follows young author Edith Cushing (Wasikowska) as she marries Sir Thomas Sharpe (Hiddleston) and moves in with him and his spooky sister Lucille (Chastain), at which point she discovers her new family isn't quite what it seems. Hunnam also stars as Edith's childhood friend, Dr. Alan McMichael, whose warning about the Sharpes and their creepy home she ignores.

I'm debating whether I want to see the movie in the theaters or not. Gosh, I really hate my fear of seeing scary movies in the theater.

I came across an article about Ragnarok today, suffice to say I hate it. It's all rumours of course and I hope there's no truth to what I read regarding the plot and what happens to Loki.

I read that article.

I would hate for him to die in Thor 3, period - because there's nothing I want more than to see Loki forced to to team up with the Avengers in IW....I see that as a goldmine of potential too good to waste.

Besides, why kill off Loki, an audience favorite and a huge draw for the Thor movies, if Tom wants to continue with the role. That would be utterly stupid of Marvel to do that.

Thankfully it's rumors and nothing more.

I'm sooooo excited for Crimson Peak. I love gothic horror and this looks like the perfect October movie to me.
