I used to adore long, multi-chaptered fanfics, but lack of patience between updates and people leaving their work unfinished has made appreciate decent-length one-shots, at last.

Yeah. I hate the ones where the author finally decides to write a new chapter after a 1.5 year break before going on another 1.5 year break.

They bring your hopes back from the dead, so for a month you keep checking the story every few days, until you realize you're back in the darkness of unresolved fictional tension. __________________

Aww. I've been there, too, in the past.
And then they wonder why one stops trusting people, lol. J/k But actually, if an author is confident that their interest in that project or that fandom is dead, a short note to say the work is going to remain unfinished would be super appreciated. It's not much of a bother. __________________

This girl has been super nice, she said she wants to finish the fanfic but that she lost her inspiration, she's waiting for the right time to finish it instead of writing a bad ending and ruining all the story. It makes sense, but it kills me just the same.
