I really hope we'll get to see Thor having his say in what will happen to Loki now that he's back in Asgard.

Look at bb Loki's expression when Odin is screaming at Thor during that whole scene. Loki tried to speak but Odin did that scream/grunting thing at him which took him aback. Loki knows it's him who has betrayed his loved ones, not Thor. Thor may have been a bloodthirsty fool, but it was Loki's actions that brought upon the turmoil. Maybe if he had been allowed to speak during the argument, it may have altered the decisions that were made.

Loki never expects everything to be this serious
 he just thinks that Thor is reckless and he doesn't suit to be the king that soon but he didn't want him to be exiled  __________________

I don't know if Loki was unaware of how big the consequences of his action would be. But if there was a moment where, had something gone differently, might have changed the final outcome, is the confrontation on the bridge at the end of the movie. That wasn't the moment to be stoic and severe and say nothing, Odin!
