Maej!
Interesting observations about the YouTube viewers! I'd suspect at least a few of the young girls are TVD watchers who wanna see Ian in something else? __________________

. . . . . . . . . * . . . . . . . . . * . . . . . . . . . * By the way, I got my first soundtrack erasure for copyright reasons at YouTube recently. Very last clip in the series - end of episode 8. They don't identify the offending material, although it must be music since the blockage was requested by UMG or WMG. I suspect it must be "Over the Rainbow" by Israel Kamakawiwo'ole; its the only song in the clip, and the only episodes currently blocked on "Alienious"' channel at YA 1 and YA 8, which both contain that song. That's odd, since Kamakawiwo'ole's version of the song has been on YouTube, unblocked, as a stand-alone clip for five months. ... Anyhow, looks like I'll need to make a new version of the clip substituting Judy Garland's version from The Wizard of Oz (1939). Pity. It means I'll have to use subtitles for Krudski's final voice-overs. __________________

Quick thought on the YT stats. I am 25 yrs old which leads me to believe that a lot of ppl watching the vids are, as I like to call us, Children of the WB and remember the show. The ppl 45 and older could be their parents b/c I know my mom loves the show and watched it with me when it aired. Some older women could be on their husband's YT account??? Oh, but then like wolken said, there is the Ian Somerhalder factor hehe __________________

One should never underestimate the Ian factor All I meant was that, now that he's (re)gained such a large (and obsesive, hee) teen audience, they'll surely try to watch every little thing he has ever done. At least that's what I would do.
Ah, WB nostalgia I have that, too, from time to time. __________________

Whole-episode YA clips in English in HD

(Re my website title: Apologies to Evelyn Waugh, but the comparison with Brideshead begs to be made. Any YA fan who has not watched the 1981 BBC version really should. One of those rare cases in which a dramatisation beats the novel on which it is based.) __________________

I'll take a look at the 1981 version of Brideshead Revisited, too. Hopefully I'll like it more than the 2008 version. __________________

^Yesssss he is amazing. Did you see Perfume? He was, by far, the best thing about that movie imo. He was amazing enough to help me ignore the last 20 minutes or so which completely ruined the movie.

Ladies, shall we continue the discussion of Brideshead Revisited on this board's thread, http://www.fanforum.com/f39/comparin...er-shows-4636/? I posted there about Brideshead a few days ago, and again, in response to you, today.
Maej, Anja -- You are very welcome. Making the clips was most of the work, and I did that first and foremost for myself. Posting the clips online for others to view was comparative easy. That also gave me the pleasure of learning a lot -- about video editing, downloading and uploading, file/player compatibility and file conversion, and the workings of YouTube and of Adrive.com, all of which is wholly new to me. __________________

Finnegan, can you see in your account how often the files have been accessed so far? I'd be interested to know.

I've posted the availability of my whole-episode clips of YA online in several places, including but not limited to this board. But to the best of my knowledge, there's no way to tell how often any of my whole-episode clips of YA has been downloaded. The storage portal website does not appear to offer that information. I don't even know for sure whether anyone at all has downloaded any of the whole-episode clips. I haven't received any comments, compliments or complaints from anyone about them, either by e-mail or otherwise. And I promise only to keep them online until January 5, 2011. Whether I bother to keep them online after that date will depend both on how difficult that proves to be and on my perception of demand for the clips. I do know, of course, how many times my shorter clips of YA on YouTube have been accessed. They were viewed an average of somewhat more than 100 times a day (collectively, not for each clip) before I made the whole-episode clips available. For a few days after I posted the whole-episode clips, views of the shorter clips rose to an unprecedented high (about 250 a day) and subsequently have fallen to an unprecedented low (about 60 a day). So I tentatively infer that enough people may be downloading the whole-episode clips to affect, substantially, demand for the shorter clips. __________________

Ah, I see. I wasn't sure if you could tell, because there's some host sites that show you the number of downloads and some that don't. But given the interest in the youtube clips, I'd say there must definitely be some downloads.
Any reason that you'll only have them online until that particular date? I was kinda hoping you'd keep them uploaded for all eternity so that when I finally have a decent internet connection in two or three years I can still download them. __________________
