You're not wrong, but that scene is slightly redundant against the Charles/Erik scene in the sub-basement, which is much the same conceptually, and is more essential to wrapping up a trilogy that has largely been about exploring the origins of those two men. The scene with Raven has value in that it acknowledges her role as pivot point between the two men's philosophy's, but it's more about what happens next, and is covered with greater impact and economy in the Danger Room scene.

It's a nice scene. I like it a lot. But I think it would upset the movie's flow if reinserted.
