But no, you're right, a Mystique solo outing would be contingent I think on Jen's involvement. I suspect that's how they intend to continue her story following Apocalypse. Otherwise it's hard to see how they'd be able to keep using her in the main X-films, being as how she's now neither a member of the X-men or the Brotherhood. Hopefully Jen will want to continue with the character, but it wouldn't have to happen immediately so she's got some time I think. __________________

But yeah, Apocalypse could be a good lead into her solo film. I don't know the comics well. But isn't there one storyline where she works for the government? Or do the Rogue storyline. |

I think though, that the story you're thinking of might be from her short-lived solo comic series by Brian K. Vaughan. In that she was working what were essentially black-ops missions for Charles Xavier. Their relationship is not familial in the comics, like it is in the movies, but Raven does have a certain respect for Xavier. There are tons of Mystique stories, she's a spectacularly rich character, but more than anything I'd like to see them get into her relationship with Irene Adler/Destiny. It had been intended to be a romantic relationship, with Destiny actually being Nightcrawler's mother (Raven would have taken male form during their coupling, making her the father essentially) but Marvel balked at that back in the late eighties and so writer Chris Claremont dropped it. I think it would be a pretty cool emotional arc to play with the character, particularly as Destiny is eventually killed by Charles Xavier's son... __________________

Yup!
Chaos War: X-Men #2, suggested that Conan Doyle based the character of Irene Adler in his Sherlock Holmes short story A Scandal in Belgravia, on Destiny. The truth though, is that Chris Claremont is a fan of Holmes, so borrowed the name. __________________

It's a little frustrating to me that no one has asked her, despite there having been opportunities to do so. Just do it reporters. Ask her if she's gonna' do a Mystique solo movie... __________________
