So Scarlett Johansson is now starring It's What I do and will be directed by Ridley Scott.

But yeah. Another lost Jen project.

but doesn't take much for studios to not call anymore after a few underperforming films.

She has two projects in development. Bad Blood with Adam McKay where she plays Elizabeth Holmes. the CEO of a company who did bad things. Based on real events. and burial Rites with Luca Guadagnino.

Plus Zelda with Ron Howard and the AS script. I don't see that last one happening any time soon.

But those are all in development. and will take a while if not years.

So at the only moment is her role in Dark Phoenix.



So it will be until 2020 or later I am guessing till a starring role for her. Hollywood is fickle that way. Only good till you don't have hit movies.

i'm still sad over her leaving the IWID project wow, SJ snapping that one up quick!

i remain hopeful over both Zelda and Bad Blood, but don't see anything happening anytime soon. *sighs*

the problem is that general audiences usually don't respond well to currently politically-involved celebrities, democrat or republican, and tend to associate that celebrities's politics with the film or tv show being promoted or shown. so, in this case, it is smart of Jen to do her political activism during a lull in her career, when audiences can't do a pushback or boycott on her current film project because they don't agree with her views, opinions, and political leanings.

i have always been of the opinion that actors should remain politically neutral or low-key in their activism, because the only reason you exist as an actor, is your fans putting their butts in theater seats to see your film, i.e. they put money in the studios pockets and made a profit. it stands to reason that half your audience leans the other way politically, and they could choose not to see your film because they associate your personal life with your professional life, the celebrity and actor becoming one, which is toxic to theater revenue especially in the captain cheeto era of alt. right lunatics who get directors fired over decade-old tweets because said director was critical of the orange-faced buffoon in power. smh. but i digress, i cannot tell the celebrity how to live their life, it is their right and choice. more power to them.

hopefully, her political activism has achieved it's goals by the time she returns to work in several years, and people have short memories. i couldn't care less about her politics, i just want to see my baby onscreen again!
