It's not that you shouldn't care. It's good that you care. It's even good that you stick up for her. But... you need to examine who it is that's saying these things, and whether or not their opinions are of any real value, because if they're not then all arguing with them does is validate their point of view.
Trust me, ignoring these people robs them of their power and their reach. As a bonus, being ignored drives them absolutely ****ing crazy.  __________________
