I haven't seen the episode (I'm in USA) but I read on another site that it is revealed in the episode that Daisy is 24. If she's 24 in 1924, that means she was only 12 in the first episode. Right? Awfully big boobs for a 12-year-old in the early 20th Century...

Was there any mention of William or their marriage in either of the new episodes? It's my understanding that the recent episode featured a WWI memorial.

No mention of William yet. There have been discussions about if erecting a war memorial is the right thing to do. The most recent focus has been on where to build it. I'm sure William will get mentioned once the memorial is built. He was loved by everyone downstairs and very well liked by the Crawleys. I'm sure Daisy will have him close in heart and mind. Hopefully we'll see his father this season. I love how Mr. Mason has taken Daisy to heart like a real daughter. Their relationship is so sweet.

I want to see Mr. Mason again too. I feel like there's opportunity for him to be back since it's open-ended with him.

I'm not sure who he is but obviously he's a common friend of the cast so perhaps a staff/crew from D.A.

Do you guys think Daisy is going to leave Downton at the end of season 5? Mr. Mason shows up in episode 8, and Daisy looks pretty happy in this promotional still from the episode:

According to an interview with Sophie McShera: "I'm as clueless as you. Every script I get I keep thinking 'Where's he sending me, what's happening, I'm learning all this stuff. I was thinking 'Is she gonna leave???' But it's, it's all...I'm, I'm good, it's all good."

That makes it sound as though she's not going to leave, but she could have been referring to herself leaving the show, as opposed to Daisy leaving Downton for the farm.

I don't want to speculate about future storylines so much (as we'd rather have that on the S&S thread on the Spoilers board) but I feel like Daisy's studying should pay off soon and she would definitely end up running the farm with Mr. Mason soon, I think.
