Tell me about it!
Lying to Gold about who he was was disgusting, but stealing from a pregnant woman in jail after making sure the guy she loved left really takes the cake. Ok, he might have not known she was pregnant, but still...

You can't just send money to someone in prison through the post like that though. I'm not going to assume he just up and stole the money until I see otherwise.
Besides which, he was obviously still keeping track of Emma in order to know what sentance she got and where she was put in prison.
And in addition to that, all he was doing was the very thing he was sent here to do in the first place. Make sure The Saviour broke the curse. He sent the postcard as soon as he could, so Neal could come to SB, and I don't think he liked doing what he did, but he had to do it.
The fate of everyone in Storybrooke, including their own parents and families, depended entirely on him doing what he had to do.

You might have overlooked a very important detail. Emma left prison after 11 months, and where was August? How come he did nothing in those 10 years to make sure she would believe in magic, in her destiny? I'm sorry, but August himself had admitted he was far, very far from Emma when she got to SB. He knew he had failed his mission, and the fact he was becoming a wooden puppet was his punishment.
