Since we saw the car come through and hit Hook, we know that the sheriff's office will be involved.

I tried writing a fanfic where Charming talked to Rumple about Belle at the hospital and helped calm him down.

The problem was it was a story without drama or conflict. It actually worked too well.

But, it made me realize some things Charming could have pointed out if he hadn't been concentrating on a dying man some people wanted to let die and the only doctor who could save him being drunk and slipping into suicidal.

1. Obviously, Charming knows what it's like when you're true love doesn't recognize you and would just as soon put an arrow through you as listen to you.

2. Charming also knows what it's like to wake up and not recognize anyone or anything in the world around him.

3. He also knows what it's like to get the wrong memories put in his head and have them tell him to walk away from his true love.

4. More than that, he might remember the mobile. If he thinks about it, he'd realize Gold showed him his own talisman, something that should have helped bring his real memories back - and it didn't work.

Or it didn't work then.

Because Charming could point out that, just like him and Snow, Rumple and Belle have always found each other, they have always been reunited. Even death couldn't keep them apart.

The difference is Charming has always has hope - but I think that's something he knows how to share.
