I agree with you. Except that such kids are not from another realm.

I mean, it must have been pretty scary to land in a place like our world, with no friends, family or references. Even Pino was better off: at least he ran away with other kids. As to Baelfire, I don't think he faced his new reality as an adventure, at least not right away - if he kept his memories, the thought of his father choosing power over him must have hurt for a very long time.

Poor kid, indeed. And one day he has yet to find out that his father killed his mother. Bumpy road ahead...

Er, yes I know that August was in a similar state when he entered our world. But first, I'm talking about how JMo described Henry's dad and I don't consider August to be him since that would be way too illogical at this point. And secondly I doubt that August went through exactly the same psychological distress like Bae, because though he was sent to our world he knew that he had a father who loves and cares for him enough to save him from the curse, whereas Bae had a father (and mother) who abandoned, just how all her youth long Emma that her parents abandoned her and left her as a baby on a street side . That's what makes the difference. And that's what characterizes Emma's and Bae's possible bonding and relationship for me.

Agreed. I think he must have kept his memories though, since August still had his.

It's interesting how much of the show revolves around parental love, and yet a number of the characters had pretty traumatic childhoods as a result.

So true! I mean, pretty much everyone in the show has something to complain about their parents...

Charming: My "father" killed my mother.
Snow: My stepmother killed my father.
Regina: Well, my mother killed my one true love.
Emma: My parents abandoned me.
Henry: My mother abandoned me and my father is dead.
Bae: My father abandoned me and my mother is dead.

And so on...
