I'm just about at the halfway point of the season now, and Adelaide Kane is really scary good in this role, and her character might just be the best antagonist the series has given us to date.

Edit: And, yes, she's an antagonist, even with Gothel betraying her.

It's easy to feel bad when you've hit rock bottom and have no other options, but that's not really remorse.

Regina, Zelena, and Rumple's roads to redemption were sparked by genuine changes of heart, but that's not the case, IMO, with Drizella.

^ Maybe you have information/context that I don't yet, but based on her behavior up to the point in the season to which I've seen (A Taste of the Heights), it's hard for me to see any attempt at recompense on Drizella's part as not having ulterior motives, even if said motives are just self-preservation.

Just as a point of clarification, I haven't yet seen Knightfall and The Girl in the Tower, but I'm not unaware of Drizella's role in the former, and so my assessment of her behavior isn't entirely uninformed by future events.

Genuine or not, she's taken the first step all our redeemed villains have, and that is to think about someone other than herself. I do see signs of that, and I hope she takes action to put right some of what she has done.
