Not sure if anyone else noticed that but at first Neal was crawling away from portal as far as he could. But when he saw that Emma is in danger he totally forgot about his own fear.

I was just rewatching their scenes for giffing purposes. After he caught her over the portal I just wanted to scream at them to get away from it already.
This is going to be a nightmare for me to gif. The scenes are just so green and flashing. |

That's true, but more likely than not, we also wouldn't have had the ILYs and Emmas: "I need you"!
 I just wish Charming would have come and helped Emma to pull Neal up. I can't believe he and Snow just left without making sure that Emma was okay. |

I'm trying to imagine what it would be like to get a truly happy present day Emma. I'm looking at the scene over the portal where Neal says "I love you too" and then that smile on her face. It would be great to see her get to smile again without impending tragedy hanging over her head.

Emma has been alone for much too long. It breaks my heart that the only thing she wished for on her 28th birthday was not to be alone on that day. She needs a happy birthday with her parents, Henry, Neal and her friends.
