They all did. Just some were better than others.

Season 1: Magic comes to Storybrooke.
Season 2: Everyone goes to Neverland.
Season 3: Elsa from Frozen arrives.
Season 4: Emma becomes the dark one.
Season 5: Mr Hyde comes to Storybrooke. The Evil Queen returns.
Season 6: .....?

It will be interesting to see what they're doing with it but I completely get that many people are unhappy about it. I wouldn't trust the writers either.
