I definitely think he was probably one of the 'baddies' in their fairytale world.

Or at least, he was always leaning towards that direction. I have a feeling if anything will change him, it'll definitely be from his experiences in the mortal world. And maybe getting to know Emma, who grew up inside it too, will have some kind of effect on him down the road as well.
