The Dark One inside prevents him from sacrifice. It's scared of Rumple's undoing because Rumple is its "host". I can't wait to see even more scenes ... and I'm thinking that Belle perhaps is dreaming or something, that she'll have some idea when she wakes up. Hoping it's not JUST Rumpel's visions, but Belle's subconscious finding him.

It was exhilarating to usher in this season's first Rumbelle scene, but I didn't enjoy it very much. A cloaked Belle showed up with a string of leading questions to Rumple, none about herself. That was not an interaction that I expected. It was more like a therapy with a shrink.

I hold both of you are right. I think there is more and the Belle is connected to what is happening to Rumple in NVL.

I'm also drowning in Rumbelle gifs.. but really is a great way to go..
