That's not what I'm referring to. I despise the way she didn't give a darn (and you bet I wanted to use a stronger word here) about Belle; she was all caught up in the weird time thing and overly giddy to me - she certainly didn't seem sad that Belle had died. Then again, we're talking about a woman who imprisoned her for 30 years and ripped her heart out.

Aside from that, I just didn't understand why the live blog posts on Tumblr were like "oh my god, this is so emotional". I admit, I do not like Rumple and Regina scenes, but I didn't find the scene overly emotional. It was fine, I guess, and I understand that he is (a) probably cried out at this point (only a short time after Belle died) and (b) he wouldn't exactly break down in front of anyone, nevermind Regina.....but, I just didn't think it was "all that".

I was really excited about Beauty and Rumple's arc, but this scene frankly has made me rather negative and pessimistic at this point. Now maybe it's because I'm overtired, but I feel like Belle died for Rumple's story. They could have wrapped up Rumple’s story without having her die - and separating them again. Adam and Eddy admitted that it was done to keep the drama alive essentially, but they easily could have had Belle go with Rumple to find the Guardian (like, she didn’t have to die) - and given the parameters of the curse/fail safe, we still would have had the drama considering that Belle would have been in danger. They brought Zelena back for story, so why her and her daughter ? I don’t give a fig about either.

Rumple is now going to have screen time with everyone except Belle, which means that it’s the same thing, just different season.

Again, I was flying high for many weeks and since Beauty as well, but right now I'm in a funk thanks to that scene. PLUS - we're probably not going to see this supposed search for the Guardian. He's going to pretend to be Weaver doing his thing in the normal course of S7 events, which means that while of course his motivation is to find the Guardian, it's not like there's a way to show him doing that ; it's not like we can see him go interview people.

I don't like feeling this way, so perhaps I'll emerge from this funk, but who knows?

By the way, not to be overly blunt, but I feel like it has to be said. Since you block me on Tumblr, why do you not have me on ignore here?

I don't have you blocked on tumblr? I thought you blocked me? I'll check into that. The scene with Regina wasn't all that for me either. Yes I agree Belle could be here for this. It is always coulda, shoulda, woulda with these lazy writers. I am just glad that Belle is not in their hands anymore and they wrote a beautiful episode fitting her character.
As to the guardian, we are only a few episodes in and we don't know what happened pre curse other than he didn't find the guardian or was interrupted in his search.

Stop all this second guessing Betsy, we are not all pessimists on here...

I want to keep in mind that I wasn't thinking any of this until after that scene - I was fine (as fine as I could be, I guess) with Belle dying. AS a natural pessimist, I think it was only natural that at some point my negativity would emerge; it's a matter of whether I can fight through it.

Oh I know we're only a few episodes in, but I don't honestly know HOW they can possibly show Rumple searching for him/her - and that concerns me. I wouldn't be surprised at all if we don't see any of this search, if it's off-screen....... It would be just like Adam and Eddy

About your pessimism, we all have moments. I received some good news about my healthcare premiums and right away started thinking, okay this good thing happened, does that mean something else bad is going to happen? It is hard to overcome pessimism. It takes a lot of stern conversations with yourself and even than there will be that niggling doubt. Everytime I was optimistic there was always this nagging voice in that back of my head saying good things won't last. Sometimes it was right, sometimes it was wrong. It is an uphill battle. What I started doing recently was to sit down and get all my negative thoughts and doubts out there and than after that, I felt better and could think of all the positive things that could happen instead. It helps.

Personally I hope it's neither, but regardless, my point was that we're not going to see Rumple searching for the Guardian. No matter who it is, by the very nature of it's story, it's not something that can actually be shown on screen - it can only be shown through conversations Rumple has that are part of normal scenes. We won't be able to see into his mind to find out what he's thinking. He's going to be observing - and while that's nice for him, it's extremely disappointing to me, and yes I think Adam and Eddy mislead us.

I think it's less pessimism, to be honest, and more outright disappointment. Aside from the above, I just don't like that Belle had to die - she didn't, but A/E didn't want her on the show anymore. I hate that Rumple, yet again, is going to have all the scenes with Alice, Regina, etc.,and not Belle; Emilie deserved better. Beauty was beautiful, but it was one episode and now it's over..........
