HANAHAN, S.C. -- South Carolina has had enough of their winter, and they've gone to extreme measures to put a halt to it by arresting Elsa, from the movie Frozen.

She wasn't building a snowman, but Elsa was spotted freezing a fountain in the town of Hanahan in advance of an approaching cold front and ice storm, and taken into custody by the town's police chief and another officer, reports WCIV-TV in Charleston.

However, she was freed after a bond court hearing. Apparently the ice melted before the hearing, taking with it any evidence.

Triumphantly, the Snow Queen walked out of court, just as the temperature began to drop. Highs Tuesday were expected in the mid 30s with freezing rain after the region was basking in the mid 70s over the weekend.

The event was set up by Glass Slipper Productions, a local event planning company that provides princesses for parties, WCIV said. Julie Calafiore, who works at Glass Slipper Productions, said they thought it would be a fun thing to recreate in South Carolina's "Lowcountry" after seeing a Kentucky police department's warrant for Elsa.

Calafiore said the photo shoot was put together in a matter of minutes and has since gone viral, including topping Facebook's trending stories.
