Exactly. And it wouldn't have mattered if we didn't get to see them really get back together other than an initially scene of them saying they were back together. It would have been extremely different compared to George/AB because they needed an entire storyline build up.

Yeah, they could have just got a scene of them smiling at each other in the finale that would have implied endgame

Yeah, I agree. There was enough history between them and enough continuous scenes that it wouldn't have been that shocking.
