Yeah, it did. It still frustrates me that Leila saw ZW as endgame since the end of S2, yet we still got what we got through S3. If she knew they were endgame, I don't understand what she was trying to write for them. Unless it was what I think and she was trying to show us one big ZW parallel, but them ending up making it work in the end unlike the first time they tried the relationship thing. And it just came across really badly.

I doubt she was doing that. She freely admitting once that she had no real plan for the show after she changed things to ZW.

I think it's one of those things where you try and make sense of it because there's really no explanation as to why things happened the way they did. And even with some of the leila podcast interviews, she shill only explains that Joel was there to be an obstacle , but nothing more.

It did feel like they didn't really know where they were going with that whole plot...

I wish Leila would explain it more, okay, so Joel was meant to be an obstacle... why was he there so long? Why didn't he actually question it when he picked up on Zoe's jealousy over Wade? Why did their relationship have to be so serious? How much of it was 'real' or Zoe just in denial? & seriously why why why did he have to take up so much screen time?

We've all seen obstacles in tv relationships before, but Joel was just.... really badly handled.

There's very little of the Joel plot that wasn't terrible. Like he was a good guy and we didn't have to suffer through him proposing for example.

Thank God that didn't happen, I was worried that it was gonna! Having to suffer through them trying to buy a house together was bad enough...

I'd love if Rachel did a rewatch podcast for this show someday, it would be interesting to hear her thoughts on a lot of this stuff
